Monkey Business: The Shortcut That Isn’t
A young monk was frustrated with how long it took to reach enlightenment.
He asked the Zen master, “Isn’t there a shortcut? Something faster?”
The master smiled and said, “Enlightenment is like a monkey in the forest—it jumps around, never sitting still.”
The monk frowned, “So, what should I do?”
The master laughed, “Maybe stop chasing the monkey… and enjoy the trees instead.”
Moral: Sometimes we’re so busy chasing goals that we forget to appreciate the journey.
